ARTIST OF THE DAY
Plus One
Right around the turn of the century there was a resurgence of pop music. Boy-bands were hip and the Christian music industry joined the foray with Plus One. This singing, dancing, harmonizing quintet ruled the charts for about three years before disbanding (much like every other pop group of the age). But in their wake they left several fun albums, including a fantastic Christmas project.
Plus One had a couple of mega-hits in 2000, Written On My Heart and ,God Is In This Place shot to the top of the charts. But like most pop outfits of the age - it was short-lived.
The band had its ups and downs, and by their final 2003 release Exodus there were only three members of the group left. Plus their sound had morphed into a Coldplay-esque rock outfit - rather than the N'Sync clone they began as.
