ARTIST OF THE DAY
Matt Redman

Matt has been leading worship full-time since the age of 20 and this journey has taken him around the world; to South Africa, Japan, India, Australia, Germany, Uganda, Croatia and the Czech Republic.  Redman is in an ellite group of songwriters responsible for a great deal of what is sung in churches worldwide; including songs: The Heart of Worship, Better is One Day, Blessed Be Your Name and You Never Let Go.

Matt & Beth Redman have five children; Maisey, Noah, Rocco, Jackson and Levi. Based in Atlanta they are part of Passion City Church with pastors Louie and Shelley Giglio. (Yep, same church that also boasts Chris Tomlin, Kristian Stanfill and Nathan and Christy Nockels as members)

Matt is also the author (or co-author with his wife Beth) of four books, all center around the theme of worship and he compiled two other books of practical worship-leading advice from many experienced leaders around the globe.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Laura Story

Laura Story won a GRAMMY and several Dove Awards for her song Blessings.  Her lyrics remind us that God works in ways that we would prefer He didn't - but that His ways are truly better.  It was a hard learned lesson.  For several years Laura has walked a dark path with her husband Martin Elvington.  Just a year after they married Martin was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  He was kept alive with a breathing machine and surgeons operated multiple times trying to save his life.  Through the process Martin lost much of his vision and continues to suffer severe memory loss.

Like the story of Job, God has poured out tremendous blessing on Laura and her family after a very difficult time.  Laura and Martin welcomed their first child last Summer (daughter, Josie).  She continues to serve at a mega-church in Atlanta where she teaches a new generation how to lead worship.  Plus Laura has a new album out and gets to tour with her family in tow.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Jon Foreman

Jon Foreman is the lead singer, guitarist, main songwriter and co-founder of the band Switchfoot, which he founded back in 1996 with his brother Tim and friend Chad.

History: Jon Foreman was born in San Bernardino County, California, but his family moved to Massachusetts and Virginia Beach during his childhood. There he became fast friends with Todd Cooper, who encouraged him to learn guitar.  (Cooper was later a guitar tech for Switchfoot)  After several years the Foreman family moved back to Southern California, this time settling in San Diego, where Jon attended UC San Diego and later dropped out to follow his singing career.

Besides fronting Switchfoot, Jon actively writes with other musicians.  He's released numerous solo projects (including the Limbs & Branches Collection: Fall, Winter, Spring & Summer) and has another band called Fiction Family, comprised of himself and Nickel Creek member Sean Watkins.

Home: Jon and his wife Emily, plus most of his family still call San Diego home.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Rachael Lampa

Rachael Lampa was born in Ann Arbor, MI and grew up in a tightly knit family just outside of Boulder, CO. As a family, they clung to Christ through hard times, including job losses and divorce. Through the hard times, God used Rachael's voice to inspire and bring healing. And it was her voice that landed her a Word Recording contract at the age of 14.

The next 8 years of Rachael's life were filled with recording, touring, promoting - a crazy travel schedule that stretched right through adolescence. Some of her adventures included an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The View, ET, CNN, the privilege of recording at Abbey Road Studios in London, and a performance for the Pope in Rome in 2000.

After a few years of rest and searching, Rachael Lampa got married, started writing music again, moved to Nashville and recorded All We Need.

Fun Fact: Rachael starred as Sally in the Christian DVD Hidden Secrets, co-starring John Schneider (from The Dukes of Hazzard).

A new week has dawned...
With a forecast that includes an ever so slight chance for snow...

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Meredith Andrews

Meredith Andrews was working as the worship leader at Chicago's Harvest Bible Chapel when she was picked up by Word Records.  Her debut album The Invitation propelled her into the spotlight, landed her a tour with Michael W. Smith and multiple Dove Award nominations.

That was in 2008.  Flash forward 5 years and she's now a veteran of the industry.  She's got three hit albums under her belt - She's won Dove Awards, toured the world, gotten married, had two sons and continues to win new fans with her approachable worship music and kind spirit, evident in every show.

A native of Wilson, NC, she began singing in church when she was only six-years-old, and by the time she was in high school, she was writing songs and leading worship. Andrews went on to attend Liberty University, majoring in family and child development. Meredith originally planned to work at an orphanage. However, during her junior year at Liberty, she felt God calling her into music ministry.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Steve & Shawn

Steve & Shawn travel full-time leading worship, teaching on worship, and doing hands-on training sessions for worship teams (your people, your equipment) for all areas (instrumentalists, vocalists, songwriters, and technical). Our teaching is funny, practical, and encouraging.  Their goal is to equip the local church - rather than have them be our audience.

Their music is diverse, modern, and scalable, from small and intimate to high energy and loud.  Steve is 6’6” tall, a photographer, an mc, a triathlete and a wanna-be chef.  Shawn is Steve's wife and a lover of all things mocha. She also has a piano performance degree. Together they have 2 sons and served together as youth pastors for over 6 years in their local church.

Linguistics: Steve & Shawn also minister in Spanish.

Did you know that Thanksgiving is 3 weeks from today?
Cause it totally is.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Hillsong UNITED

With the familiar faces of worship leaders Joel Houston, Jad Gillies, JD and Matt Crocker upfront, the UNITED team (one of several worship bands out of Hillsong church in Sydney, Australia) has become an evolving collaboration of pastors, worship leaders, musicians and songwriters, all bound by the common goal of giving voice to a generation who is passionate about God.

Committed to creating a musical expression that is almost uncomfortable in its uniqueness, their mission is to write songs that awaken churches and individuals to the fact that we are redeemed and called into the story of God.

"Our prayer is that people everywhere would catch this desire and run with it in the same way! Knowing God is with them, God is in control, and He will have His way." – Joel Houston

Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike...

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Casting Crowns

Even as Casting Crowns has become Christian music's most successful act, Mark Hall and his fellow band members have continued working at their home churches.

After all the accolades, all the awards, all the time on the road and in the studio, why does Casting Crowns continue to do what they do? The answer is simple: It’s their calling – God’s calling on the lives of these seven committed and talented musicians. To pour their lives into the students and families God has placed in their paths. To set discipleship to music. To challenge and strengthen the body of Christ.

It’s what brought them together in the first place and what keeps them going.

Accolades: Since its launch in 2003 the band has garnered 14 GMA Dove Awards, three GRAMMY Awards and an American Music Award. In addition, the band has seen three RIAA Platinum Albums, two RIAA Platinum DVDs, two RIAA Gold Albums and two Gold DVDs. Casting Crowns has sold more than 8.2 million albums to date and has been named Billboard magazine's top-selling Christian act for the past four years.

Off Days: Ever wonder what artists do when they aren't busy with their own band?  Well yesterday Mark Hall spoke at my old church in New Orleans - encouraging a group of young pastors.  Then he went to see NEEDTOBREATHE in concert at the House of Blues!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
The Neverclaim

The Neverclaim is a 6-man band of eclectic backgrounds, from one of the more eclectic cities in North America, Portland.  Lead singer Jeremiah Carlson says, "“We all have different personalities and musical backgrounds, but we all really love people and believe God wants to steal their hearts with His love."

Jeremiah was a drummer for a Christian metal band who felt God calling him to lead worship.  So he stepped down from metal and up to being a youth pastor.  From within the youth group, Craigslist ads and friends of friends, The Neverclaim began to form.

Ultimately, The Neverclaim walks what it talks by living out Christian community with each other and those who encounter the band. With a powerful message of spiritual revival, the guys pray for and minister to the people in their path. Jeremiah also serves on the National Youth Task Force within the Vineyard Church Movement, committing a lot of his time, along with the band, to the organization’s mission of being an outpost of God’s compassionate love in a broken world.

Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving... 23 Days!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Salvador

Salvador is a jam band. More jazz influenced than anything else, they take the stage every night without a set list. They are prayed up and ready to see where the Holy Spirit will take them! The band hails from Texas and brings a country sensibility, with heavy Latin influences to their modern praise and worship music. And they are ok with a 10 minute guitar solo smack in the middle of the song!

Family Ties: Front man Nic Gozalez is married to Jaci Valasquez. It's safe to say that Christian music is their lifeblood.

It's been over four years since the award winning band created new music together.  To spark the creative flame, Nic Gonzalez decided to go back to the very beginning.  He transformed his garage into a band room - stringing up Christmas lights for effect, and covering everything with carpet to protect his neighbors ears.  The band piled in and did what had done as teenagers - they practiced and practiced and wrote a ton of new songs.

Bi-Lingual: Salvador releases their albums in both English and Spanish.

New month - new weekend - things are lookin' up!
And Happy All Saints Day!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
FFH

FFH was orginally called Far From Home.  Formed by Jeromy Deibler and Brian Smith in 1991 - the band added two more members: Jennifer Deibler (Jeromy's wife) and Michael Boggs. Working independently, FFH produced and released six albums, while maintaining a productive touring schedule.  Ultimately, the quartet signed with Essential Records.

Brian Smith transitioned into other ministries and Michael Boggs launched a solo career, though still participates in FFH recordings.  At the heart of the group is a family who has faced tremendous hardship.  The Dieblers took time off from music in 2006 to serve in South Africa.  While abroad, Jeromy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

FFH is back to business - having released several more albums since 2008.  Their latest release is a bit of a departure for the stylistically-poppy group.  The Way We Worship spotlights Jennifer's voice more than Jeromy - and has a rustic, almost-country charm.  The concept of the album was born our of Jennifer loving to sing lullabies to her children, Hutch and Hope Sadie-Claire.

Home:  The Dieblers make their home just outside of Nashville, TN - where they lead worship at Fellowship Bible Church when not touring with FFH.

Happy er... Reformation day?

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Audio Adrenaline

Mark Stuart and Will McGinniss met at Kentucky Christian University. Stuart and his brother David were putting together a rock band and McGinniss struck up a friendship with the pair. Along with David and Barry Blair they launched a band called A-180. The band recorded two independent albums before signing a record contract with ForeFront Records. It was then that they officially became Audio Adrenaline.

Christian music would never be the same - or youth camp.  Hits like Big House and We're A Band propelled the band to the forefront of a thriving Christian rock scene in the mid-90s.  They were headliners for every Christian festival on the planet - and toured ceaselessly.  Ultimately, that took a toll on their families and relationships.  Exhaustion and family strain, plus a vocal disease for lead singer Mark Stuart led to the end of Audio Adrenaline.

Or so it seemed...

Just last year the band reformed - now with Kevin Max (formerly of DCTalk) as the new lead singer - with Mark Stuart writing and producing for the band (still unable to sing).  The band's new album is taking the world by storm - and proceeds from the net profit go to fund the Hands & Feet Project in Haiti!  It's a brand new life for Audio Adrenaline!

The week is half-way over - well done everybody!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
NewSong

After 30 years and 20 #1 radio hits - NewSong is still pushing the limits to reach a new generation for Christ. Members have come and gone - and some fresh young musicians have joined the core group to produce a sound that is both fresh and classic NewSong.

When Eddie Carswell and Billy Goodwin, who continue to lead the evolving group, started out in 1981 at Morningside Baptist Church in Valdosta, Georgia, neither of them imagined NewSong would repeatedly outdo itself for so many years. Now the guys are headed into their fourth decade of music and just keeps getting better!

After nearly a decade away, award winning front-man Russ Lee returned to the group in 2010.  Their newest album Swallow The Ocean captures the essence of this evolving, multi-generational band, yet somehow still has the heart and soul of the NewSong of old.

Trend-Setters: NewSong founded and continue to tour as a part of WinterJam.  This massive multi-artist American tour brings Christian music's biggest acts to cities all across America and never charges more than $10.  The goal - to bring the best music to everyone - and provide an incredible time of worship for the whole family!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Phil Stacey

Phil Stacey got his start on American Idol - making it all the way to the Top 5 on Season 6 before getting the boot.  But despite not winning the singing competition, things are working out just fine for this Christian radio staple.  The native of Kentucky brings a southern rock charm to emotional lyrics, and an honesty that is incredibly endearing.

Both grandfathers and his dad were pastors, so Phil has grown up in the Church, and that is where his heart is.  Phil attended Lee University in Cleveland, TN where he became part of the highly acclaimed Lee Singers.  In fact, he says that once he made the singing group, he stayed in school JUST to be a part of the group.  He even made the ranks of their prestigious Second Edition touring group.

He serves as music minister at his home church and is very busy balancing a music career, church life and his family.  Phil was also in the Navy.  He enlisted (as did thousands of others) following the events of September 11, 2001.

Idol Fact: Chris Sligh was Phil's friend and roommate for Season 6 of American Idol. Now both are making great Christ-focussed music for a living!

Wait - October is almost over?!
When did that happen...

ARTIST OF THE DAY
David Crowder*Band

We'll start with some unfortunate news: The David Crowder*Band is no more.  But our purpose today is to find out about one of the biggest Praise & Worship bands of the past decade and a half...

DC*B was born out of a need for an authentic worship experience at Baylor University. David Crowder and Chris Seay founded University Baptist Church in 1995 - while still in school. The church grew - and so did the worship team. Crowder began writing songs to incorporate into the worship times at the church and eventually the church released an independent CD, Pour Over Me.

After appearances at summer festivals and regional events, Sparrow Records signed the band who would go on to be a leader in the Passion movement and challenge what worship music could be.  After the HUGE success of Illuminate, the band released an electronica EP called Sunsets & Sushi, putting a new spin on their hit worship songs. And alongside A Collsion, the band released B Collision, featuring bluegrass and country versions of their biggest hits.

Now on to the good news, two bands have birthday out of the phoenix-esque embers of DC*B, The Digital Age & Crowder.  Same guys, fun new music, endless opportunity to worship!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Brandon Heath

Since his 2006 debut, Christian music has twice honored Brandon Heath as Male Vocalist of the Year, he's been nominated for five GRAMMYs, an American Music Award, and holds a variety of honors in GMA Dove Awards.

Off stage, Heath seeks opportunities to merge his public platform with his heart for community, regularly working with Young Life, Blood:Water Mission, Restore International and unofficially volunteering for many other human rights agencies on a global scale.

Brandon Heath created the annual “Love Your Neighbor” benefit with songwriter Jason Ingram, in partnership with Fellowship Bible Church in Brentwood, Tennessee, for a night of music to raise funds and gather volunteers for a focused need in the Nashville community.

His Story: When he was just 3 Brandon's parents divorced. Growing up, Brandon was bitter towards his family, but he found comfort in Christ while in high school. At age 16 Brandon was invited to a Christian camp with some friends. He accepted Christ and began to learn about forgiveness.  A journey he is still on.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Unspoken

Unspoken first came together after lead singer Chad Mattson met guitarist Mike Gomez on a mission trip in the Dominican Republic. Chad had been struggling with drug and alcohol addiction for years, and decided to go on a mission trip to re-build his relationship with God. It was there in the Dominican Republic where Chad’s eyes were opened and he came to know Christ in a powerful way.

After Mike moved to Chad’s hometown of Maine, the two began playing music together, and performing live shows. Bass player Jon Lowry and drummer Ariel Munoz from Puerto Rico, later joined the band and Unspoken was born.

In addition to their music, the band is involved with Celebrate Recovery, a 12-step recovery program for substance abuse. “In the early days of the band, God reminded me that there are thousands of singers better than me and thousands of guitar players better than Mike, but He chose us to do this for Him. We have been chosen to bring a message to the Church…wake up, find your contentment and satisfaction in Him, hang out with Him, and have a real relationship with Him,” says Chad. “Yes, we love music and we love people but more than anything we want to see people reach their full potential in Jesus.”

A new week has begun!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Nichole Nordeman

Back in 1998, Nichole Nordeman's album Wide Eyed burst onto the scene with a sincerity and even a desparation that hadn't been heard in a while. Songs like To Know You and Who You Are were so unafraid to tackle doubt that the album ushered in a new era of songwriting in Christian music - paving the way for Sara Groves, David Crowder, Jason Gray and others.

15 years and 9 Dove Awards later - Nichole's voice is still a recognizable meloncholy that grabs your attention. Though it has been several years since she's recorded a full length album, Nichole Nordeman has been busy song writing with and for other artists, including Bethany Dillon and Amy Grant. She wrote and recorded songs for Music Inspired By the Chronicles of Narnia and VeggieTales' Sweetpea Beauty.

Her biggest accomplishment in the last several years was writing/co-writing the entire double disc album Music Inspired by The Story.  This collection features 18 songs written from the first person perspective of Bible characters.  It features the voices of the biggest names in Christian music (MercyMe, Casting Crowns, Natalie Grant, Amy Grant, Chris Tomlin, Brandon Heath and many more) - but Nichole actually co-wrote the entire project!

Nichole also lent her voice to a new recording of Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus which is featured on a modern hymns collection called Jesus, Firm Foundation. Her latest single is from a compilation of songs inspired by the life and teaching of Billy Graham.

ARTIST OF THE DAY
33 Miles

Chris Lockwood and Jason Barton are 33 Miles. After the breakout success of One Life,  founding member Collin Stoddard left the trio to follow God's calling on his life to be a full time worship pastor. Now the duo (Chris and Jason) press on, making music, leading worship and growing their faith.

“Nothing we can accomplish in business, no amount of education—nothing compares to Jesus,” says Chris, “But how our salvation translates to how we live today is the question. To wake up every day and make the choice to live with heaven in mind, to not let the circumstances of this day override that choice. It’s easier said than done, but getting up every day and trying makes it more and more possible.”

Chris and Jason raised the money to produce their latest worship album through Kickstarter - relying on their fans and faith instead of dealing with a record label.  The album came out this month, so looks like they hit their goal!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Newsboys

Part of the Holy Trinity of 90s Christian music (DC Talk, Audio Adrenaline, and The Newsboys) - The Newsboys have been touring the globe for nearly 25 years! The band originated in Australia, but the current line-up is a bit more diverse.

Facts: The Newsboys were formed in 1985 as "The News" in Queensland, Austrailia. There are no original members performing in the band's current line-up.

The Newsboys just released a brand new album (their 17th!) called Restart and it continues to rearrange your preconceived ideas of what worship music can be.  "This generation has lost its heroes and people to look up to. As a band we want to reengage our culture and have a real positive effect," said drummer Duncan Phillips to the Christian Post. "I think it’s time that we jumped in not to be apart of it, knowing who we are and having courage to do the great commission."

Phillips unabashedly says Restart is "the best Newsboys record we’ve ever penned and recorded," and his bandmates agree.

14 Days until SHARATHON!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Sara Groves

This former teacher, who lives in Minnesota with her husband and their three kids probably wouldn't strike you as a famous songwriter if you caught her in the grocery store or out at the park playing - but she's already a legend in Nashvillian circles.

When it comes to songwriting, Sara Groves influences the influencers. Her most vocal admirers range from pioneers of Christian worldview music, including Randy Stonehill, Michael Card and Charlie Peacock, to her peers today, Natalie Grant, Jars of Clay, Nichole Nordeman, Point of Grace and Bethany Dillon.

Sara Groves started writing songs when she was four years old. She describes her youth as being "lonesome", and she wrote about deep issues while still in junior high school. Eventually, she took a songwriting course, prompted by her husband, and she began to take the art seriously.

Home Life: Sara and her family sold their house, downsized to a smaller space and bought a hundred year old church building in St. Paul, MN. After months of renovating the building, they opened Art House North - a public art house inspired by Charlie Peacock's work in Texas.

The Groves Mission Statement: We believe every person has a next step with God. Whether you're an atheist or the ninety-nine-year-old woman who's served God all of her life, I'm writing music about those processes, those moments to pause and ask, ˜Where am I on the road, and where would God have me go next?"

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Hawk Nelson

Hawk Nelson is a Christian pop/rock band from Peterborough, Ontario. The band was voted "Favorite New Artist" by CCM Magazine in their February 2006 Reader's Choice Awards.  For over a decade the band has pounded the pavement, making fun Christ-focused music.

Relentless touring - six albums - multiple Dove nominations - lots of fun!

But in April of last year, lead singer Jason Dunn told the guys in the band that he was ready to strike out on a solo career.  After lots of prayer (and a bit of encouragement from friend Bart Millard of MercyMe), guitarist Jon Steingard stepped up as the new lead singer of Hawk Nelson.

So while the band's DNA is pretty much the same - in many ways, this is a brand new Hawk Nelson.

Today David Wilson is cruisin' on The Joy Ride!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Natalie Grant

Natalie Grant is an award winning singer and songwriter. She won four consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year Awards (2006-2009) at the Dove's and is never far from the top of the charts.  In fact, her latest single Hurricane became the #1 most added song to Christian radio in its first week of release!

Born in Seattle, she currently lives in Nashville with her Canadian music producer husband, Bernie Herms, and their three daughters which includes a set of twins.

Beyond her artistry, Natalie Grant is an advocate for victims of human trafficking. Abolition International, which Grant founded in 2005 under the name The Home Foundation, has raised over a quarter of a million dollars to fight the trafficking of women and children for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

Natalie is also singing and speaking as a part of the Dare To Be Revolution conferences for women.

About Hurricane: "Feeling battered by the waves of your circumstances? God is reaching for you," Natalie says."God knows exactly where you were an hour ago, where you’ll be tomorrow, and where you are now. You are not alone."

Smile - the weekend is here!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
One Sonic Society

One Sonic Society is a Christian Contemporary-Praise & Worship collective of Christian musicians from around the globe. That collective is composed of noted songwriter Jason Ingram on vocals, guitar and piano, noted Delirious lead guitarist Stuart Garrard on guitar and vocals, Hillsong UNITED drummer Paul Mabury on drums and programming, and Jonathan Thatcher  from Delirious on bass and synths.

The band was formed in 2009 at the end of Delirous.  Stu G sought out Christian artists to work with in Nashville and connected wiht Ingram.  By definition, One Sonic Society is the epitomy of a Praise & Worship Superband!

The "One" aspect of their name came from the vision of the four of members being together in unity.  "Sonic" being sound and wanting to keep creating and pushing forward.  The "Society" is a refelction of their ideal - to create community amongst musicians and worshippers.

This weekend Josh & Adam will be broadcasting from FaithFest in St. Michael's, MD!  Noon-2 PM, come hang out!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
The Afters

When The Afters broke out onto the scene, it didn't seem like anything could stop them.  Their music was fun, their attitudes were joyful and nothing could slow them down!

But life's circumstances quickly changed everything. After losing their longtime friend and manager to a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer, two band members decided to part ways with the band, and then there was a life-threatening car wreck, followed by a new member of the band losing a close friend just one week after joining the group.

It was a rough season of change for The Afters. Holding on to their faith and their passion for making music has kept the band focused throughout the mess of it all.  Through the pain, faith grew in abundance and that is definitely the message behind their sophomore album, Light Up The Sky and the more recent Life Is Beautiful.

Ancient History: The four original members of The Afters met while working at a Starbucks together.  The band's original name was Screaming Mimes - then they changed it to Blisse.  Thankfully a producer talked them into the The Afters.

TV: The Afters' music has been featured on television shows and promos for shows on almost every major network and various cable shows as well - including Grey's Anatomy, Rachel Ray, Dr. Phil, The Biggest Loser, Army Wives, You Deserve It, October Baby, So You Think You Can Dance, Americas Got Talent, The Hills, The Vineyard and more!

ARTIST OF THE DAY
Big Daddy Weave

Mike Weaver is a big guy, hence the name Big Daddy Weave! Simple, funny, slightly self depreciating - and yet once you get past the fun of simply saying "Big Daddy Weave!" you find a worship band that is sincere in there desire to lead others to throne of God.

Formed at the University of Mobile, the quintet—Mike Weaver, Jay Weaver, Joe Shirk, Jeremy Redmon and Jeff Jones—has earned a reputation both for the musical conviction that has carried their songs to the top of the charts and for the joy and passion that have made their live performances such moving and memorable experiences.

The band's latest album Love Come To Life took three years to make. And the band literally went through the fire while writing and recording the project.  A devastating fire swept through guitarist/producer Jeremy Redmon's house and studio halfway through the recording process.  That along with health issues, exhaustion and a number of other trials have served to deepen the faith of this band of brothers (technically Mike and Jay are actual brothers).
