Big Daddy Weave is our Artist of the Day today, with two songs back to back at 5:30.

Tonight's Scriptural Pursuit question was a learning moment for us all:

What epistle mentions believers being caught up in the cloud to meet the Lord?

Answer: 1 Thessalonians 4 17 For context, here's the whole passage starting at verse 16

For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Those are great words to leave you with this evening. Have a great night!

Monday, December 28, 2009

Good Afternoon! Have you had a blessed Christmas? I hope you have.
I'm David Wilson, your host for the Joy Ride as we are counting down the last few days of 2009. Has it been a good year for you?

Artist of the Day

THIRD DAY
We're mixing it up a bit, with one of your favorites and a Christmas song from our Artist of the Day at 5:30 today.

Today's Scriptural Pursuit was won by Cindy Hurley of Delmar, Delaware. She was able to tell me who spoke these last words:
"But ye shall receive power, after that, the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

The answer was the Lord Jesus. They were the last words He spoke to his disciples before He ascended into heaven. You can read about it in Acts chapter one, and the exact quote is in verse 8. Congratulations Cindy and we hope you enjoy Aaron Shust's Take Over CD, your prize for answering my question correctly this evening.

Hang on to your hats tonight. It's going to be a blustery day tomorrow!

Today's Artist of the Day

Selah

Enjoy two of my personal favorites for Christmas from Selah at 5:30 today.

Scriptural Pursuit for Christmas Time.
Which Prophet said this?

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Answer Isaiah (chapter 9:6)

I also like the 7th verse:

Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.

Congratulations to first time winner Jackie Steward of Denton MD for getting the answer tonight.

Jackie told me that she enjoyed our music. I reminded her that, starting tomorrow at 11:00 AM, we will play all Christmas music through Christmas day. Merry Christmas from all of us here at Joy! 102.5!
