ARTIST OF THE DAY
Building 429

Jason Roy formed Building 429 to reach others with a story similar to his. He faced a hard childhood and found freedom and relief in the local church. The band's name comes from Ephesians 4:29 "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."

In The Beginning: Back in 2005, B429 won the Dove Award for New Artist of the Year.

What's New: The band has a new album coming out in June.  It's called We Won't Be Shaken.  The new album encourages listeners to erase fear, stand firm and believe in a God who cannot be shaken (Pslam 62:2)

Lead singer Jason Roy explains, “We really felt like we wanted to make a record that said, ‘Stand up! You have been called.  We are God’s children.  Who can stand against what God has begun?’  That’s really our perspective.   His strength is made perfect in our weakness.  This record says, ‘Hey, let’s go! Let’s do this. God is going to use us and we’re not going to fail.”

Congratulations: Building 429's song Where I Belong has been nominated for Top Christian Song at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards (May 19th).
