Are you ready for a bold future? Growing up, I remember dreaming of the future. It featured flying cars, hoverboards, and lightsabers - none of which are a reality (yet). The older I get, the less obsessed I am with the future. The more I live in the "now."

But I don't want to lose sight of hoping for a greater future. Part of the work we do here at Joy! 102.5 is to ensure an encouraging and Christ-centered future for the next generation. Sometimes that is through a new song or artist - sometimes new programming and team members.

It isn't change for change's sake - it's an attempt to ensure a future filled with love, peace, hope and Joy! Shareathon is next week. Remember that when you give to this ministry, it isn't just about what Joy! has been to you in the past or how it helps you each day in the present. It is also about encouraging the next generations of Christ followers.

#82. Chesapeake Bay Retrievers

How many regions in America have their own breed of dog?! The Chesapeake Bay Retriever was developed in the early 1800s and officially approved by the AKC in 1884. The dogs were bred for hunting along the bay. By the 1860s, businesses used CBR's to supply water fowl to area markets in Baltimore and DC.

The Chesapeake Bay Retriever is a versatile breed that competes in field trials, hunt tests, obedience, agility, and tracking - but with the heart and loyalty of a great hunting dog. Want to learn more about these adorable, yet powerful dogs? CLICK HERE.

“Music is such a huge part of our world, and it is one of the most effective mediums for communicating a message. I’ve always felt that songs that speak to the human condition, and offer hope, purpose, and beauty, should not be limited to the church. I want my music to communicate God’s love to a broken world… and an amazingly diverse world it is! It’s awesome to see how music can bridge generational and cultural barriers, and touch the heart of a person. That is what excites me the most, and keeps me singing every day.” – Laura

Scriptural Pursuit

Q: What does Proverbs say is "more precious than rubies?"

A: Wisdom (Proverbs 3:15)
I did the research and it turns out that at least on the current Market system, rubies are trading higher than wisdom. But then again, we are in a recession ...
