The clouds are a welcome relief from some crazy summer heat. Yesterday on our Facebook page, many of you gave us your ideas for some great summer sweet, cool-you-down treats. I gained 5 pounds just looking at the list. So thanks for that ...

102.5 Shore Things
Getting to know the Eastern Shore one thing at a time ...

#13. NASCAR at Dover Downs. OK ... this one is a bit controversial for me. Because, honestly, I don't care for racing. I enjoy a good Herbie movie, but NASCAR just doesn't do it for me. I think it is a little morbid, watching and waiting for someone to get into a life threatening accident. But I can appreciate the fandom out there. So route for your car as it makes its never ending left turn!

#12. Scarf down a really good piece of Smith Island Cake!
#11. Enjoy seeing all the stars at night.
#10. See a sunrise and sunset at Molly's Point at the mouth of the Wicomico River.

Have something to add to the list of 102.5 Shore Things (Stuff to know, do, try, experience, etc. etc. on Delmarva)?
Email them to me! jmillwood@wolc.org

ARTIST OF THE DAY:
Melissa Greene

Formerly in the group Avalon (you may have heard of them...), Melissa Greene went solo and hasn't stopped! Mix in family life (her youngest just got over a bout of Swine Flu!), church responsibilities, and making records - you get what should be a very frazzled woman, yet Melissa keeps rolling with the punches, smiling all the way!

She takes a lot of pointers from the book of Job, finding strength through trials. Melissa stepped down from Avalon to minister at Gracepointe Church in Nashville in 2008, but continues to record some solo stuff, just to make life interesting.

Her latest project is called "Next Step" and is available for purchase: http://melissagreenemusic.com/site/
