Tuesday, July 27, 2010

It's Tuesday! Hooray! I sometimes through a rogue "hooray" into conversations, just to try and pick up the tempo. It's not a holiday - it's not close to the weekend - there's really not much happening on this Tuesday. But you know what? We can make it something memorable!

On a more personal note, my daughter turned half-a-year old today. I might eat some cake on her behalf.

102.5 Shore Things
Getting to know the Eastern Shore

#26. The Chincoteague Wild Pony Swim
This is about as unique as it gets in the lower 48! Tomorrow morning, ranchers will herd wild ponies, direct descendants of Spanish horses, across the Assateague Channel, and then some of the ponies will be auctioned off! I wonder if this is where the whole "I want a pony" thing came from ...

#25. YMCA Salisbury

ARTIST OF THE DAY:
NewSong

While the group isn't "new" by any stretch of the imagination, these guys continue to pop out albums and tour like whirling dervishes (Google it, kids)! They created Winter Jam - a huge annual national tour - and are always top billing, even when TobyMac or MercyMe hop on the tour.

NewSong has been recording and performing for nearly 30 years! Their latest project marks the return of front-man Russ Lee after a 10 year solo career. Russ Lee marks his return saying, “At the end of the day, the goal for NewSong has always been to share the Gospel and to make sure everyone knows that Christianity is a relationship of Hope that’s for anyone.”

The latest album (#12): Give Yourself Away. Which ironically cost money.
